Horse Circle Meditations at Silver Heart Ranch are guided meditations with loose horses in an open space. This experience is a somatic mindfulness practice where horses roam freely around you as you sit in a large circle on sturdy chairs. The present horses are acting as biofeedback mirrors to deepen relaxation, aid in emotional grounding, and bring you into present-moment awareness. You will be guided with breath-work, self-body scans, visualizations of grounding deeply into the earth below and the sky above, and nature connections as you enter a meditative state. I also provide some targeted Reiki during the meditations if you are open to it. Throughout the meditation, you can track the posture, movements, and shifting moods of the loose horses without chasing an interaction with them. Horses are free to interact with you at their choosing. As the energy within the group shifts, the horses may be drawn to lay down, wander closer, yawn and stretch, or come close enough to touch you or stand next to you. Why horses? Horses are expert readers of energy and enjoy sharing a peaceful space with people. Just being around horses can lower your heart rate and stress level. The unpredictable yet gentle freedom of loose horses will help you let go of racing thoughts and bring you firmly into the immediate environment. Meditating with horses is a unique and deeply healing experience.
