The Harvest Moon fire ceremony and guided meditation with horses is an evening outdoor ritual combining a grounding circle, a silent or low-voice meditation in the presence of a horse herd, and a communal fire ceremony to release old habits and set new intentions. Participants meet at dusk in an open arena as the bright Harvest Moon rises overhead. The horses stand loose nearby resting. You are invited to breath slowly to match the calm, steady nervous system of the horses. Feeling a grounded presence within yourself. As a group we open a sacred space of possibility acknowledging the transition of the season from peak summer to early harvest. We form a circle with our chairs in the open arena and move into a guided meditation where we can release doubt and reflect within as we visualize a path opening before us in the moonlight. Throughout, we listen to the soft sounds of the horses shifting weight, breathing, munching hay, drinking water, and use that grounded presence to anchor our thoughts when they stray. As the meditation concludes, we thank the horses and the group flows from the arena to the central fire ceremony circle where we will release old patterns and struggles while turning them into fuel for a renewed sense of purpose for the future. Letting go. The circle will close leaving you with feelings of gratitude, warmth, and the sense of the quiet strength of the horses as you travel homeward.
